I am selling a number of S Scale items for people who contacted me for help selling their collections. I am continually working on these For Sale pages to include recently received items and to provide more detailed notes to describe the condition of these many items and to reflect updated Greenberg book values. For reference purposes, I show an estimated book value for most items, adjusted for condition. These should not be interpreted as firm, fixed asking prices. Make an offer I can't refuse!

Conventional Gilbert Track

I have a LOT of a of straight and curved track. Some is clean, rust-free, and ready to run; some is rust-free but needs cleaning; some have rust on the ties but not the rails; some have light rust on the rails that can be readily removed with EagleOne Nevr-Dull from your auto parts store or Amazon; and some are heavily rusted that people with a tumbler can clean up. Let me know which kind you want and how much. The following table gives my view of their Greenberg values adjusted for condition. While Greenberg now says that curved track has the same value as straight, I'm not yet ready to agree. As with everything else, make me an ofer I can't refuse.

I also offer a selection of packaged track configurations for you to choose from. All are available in your choice of condition as shown above. The prices shown below are for rust-free track that needs cleaning.

  1. A simple loop of track with 12 curves and 2 straights for $11.00.

  2. A larger loop with 12 curves and 6 straights, a good size to go around a six-foot Christmas Tree, for $16.50.

  3. A Figure-8 with 18 curves, 4 straights, 4 half-straights, and a #725 crossover for $29.00.
    Note that this track set can also create the either of the two loops shown above.

  4. For even greater flexibility, I offer a Track Pack for $38.00 with six straight tracks added to the Figure-8 Set.
    It enables you to enlarge the above loops and to create others like the boomerang layout below.

    The following picture shows how you can enlarge one or both loops of the Figure-8; you can insert one or more
    straight tracks in one or more of four places on opposite sides of each loop.

    You can also create this boomerang layout, using everything except the crossover track.

Left Hand Remote Control Switch #1

With manual operation lever. It has the black rails made only in 1946. Two of the rail pins are of the standard type; the sharp pointed ones that came with these switches are no longer available. A peculiarity of these switches is that the rail pins have a bit of vertical play; when you connect a piece of track to it, you need to make sure the top of the track rail is level with the top of the switch rail; if you don’t, engines that use a pick up shoe (e.g., Alco and Baldwin diesels, and certain steam locomotives) will bump hard at that spot. I replaced the bulb and the missing color cylinder/shutter. A jumper wire has been soldered in around the 2-train/Regular operations switch to make it Regular operation only. My Hudson steam locomotive hits something solid when it enters from the red branch, but it’s OK entering the green branch. Manual operation works fine, but remote operation, as with many of these early switches, sometimes switches only halfway and gets stuck there, unable to move either direction, until you manually move it the rest of the way. Body is dirty, but rails are clean and nice. C-6 cosmetically.

Right Hand Remote Control Switch #1

Switch Controls

I sell the switch controls separately because I have a large number of them, four with little or no wire attached, and others with varying amounts up to six feet of wire. They vary in price depending on condition and the length of wire attached to them. In addition to the five controls listed below, I have nineteen of the more common switch controls that came with 720 and 720A switches. Let me know the length of rainbow wire and black/yellow power wire you need, and I will send you a control that meets your requirements. I do have a limited quantity of rainbow wire I could sell you with a control that has little or no wire.
